Flathead Lake Fishing Report – October

As you can see, these ladies had a great time fishing Flathead Lake last Sunday. The weather was not optimum, in fact it was downright ugly with wind, fog, a choppy lake and 35 degrees, but having a heated cabin meant that everyone was comfortable. The gals hooked 9 fish and landed 6 – everyone reeled in at least one Lake Trout.

Charene Herrera, the morning DJ at “103.1 The River” in Kalispell, booked a charter for a few friends and they weren’t bothered by the weather – we had a blast; Captain Rod made sure of that.

While we were fishing near the shore of Wild Horse Island, we got to see some of the horses come down to the lake for a drink of water.  A while later we were treated to seeing a family of Bald Eagles that seemed to be watching our every move.

If this video proves anything it is that you can fish Flathead Lake in virtually any weather.  Captain Norm’s fishing boat is equipped with a heated cabin and even a private bathroom. If the lake isn’t frozen, we can go fishing.
