Lake Koocanusa Fishing Charters

Call for Seasonal Pricing

Lake Koocanusa offers a variety of sport fish such as Kokanee Salmon, King and Kamloop Rainbows. Our main target species is the Kamloops, but a surprise bycatch of a big Bull is always welcome!

The lake is open for fishing year-round and typically fishes best when water temps are below 60 degrees. This means early spring – until water temperatures rise and late fall/winter after they fall again are the best times to fish Lake Koocanusa.

A heated, cabin boat makes this an enjoyable fishing experience!

Koocanusa Lake runs as deep as 370 feet and is 90 miles in length, half of which we share with Canada. Fishing Lake Koocanusa requires an all day charter and as always, a Montana fishing license is required to fish all Montana waters.

Booked a half day fishing trip on Flathead Lake for husband’s birthday. Our guide Pete Jellar was fantastic! Took us fishing for whitefish! It was so fun and a great morning with a great guide. Captain Mike’s fishing charter was great with communication and easy to book online!…

Great time with Captain Joe Sangimino. 1/2 day PM trip, and Joe got us out, first on whitefish where had several solid eaters (plus a few jumbos that got away), then with the downriggers on Lakers. We caught 4 really good sized, great fights and (for the 2 that weren’t slot), great eating. Joe was fun, patient, communicative, positive… just making sure we had a great experience. Much appreciated!…
