Flathead Lake
At Flathead Lake, there’s an active morning bite for Lake Trout and Pike in open shallow waters.
Church Slough
3″-5″ of ice: Be careful if you are planning to go out! Reports indicate that there are lots of small panfish and some good pike catches on tip-ups.
Lone Lake
4″-5″ of ice: A few good-sized eater perch are being caught using small tungsten jigs and plastics.
Smith Lake
6″-8″ of ice: The perch bite has been slow; however, anglers are catching lots of small pike by using jigging spoons and waxworms.
Rogers Lake
6″-7″ of ice: There is still a good grayling bite, with anglers finding success using small black and purple jigs paired with maggots.
Dog Lake
6″-7″ of ice: “A few good-sized pike are being successfully caught using tip-ups baited with dead baits.”
Lower Stillwater
7″ of ice: Despite heavy fishing pressure, anglers are still finding good perch around the islands in 20 feet of water, and there are also reports of the occasional pike being picked up off the bottom.
Loon Lake (Ferndale)
2″-4″ of ice: “There are still some thin spots towards the middle of the lake, but there’s a decent rainbow trout bite and a few perch being caught around depths of 25 to 30 feet.”
Upper Thompson
5″ of ice: “There is a good perch bite on small jigging spoons and waxworms, and the pike bite is also strong.”
Middle Thompson
No ice report yet: Middle Thompson is capped over but we have no reports on thickness yet.
Until Next Time, Tight Lines!
