Smith Lake
The ice has melted away, revealing open waters teeming with pike. Anglers are enjoying success in these early spring conditions.
Church Slough
While the water is open and clear, please note that boat access is restricted until April 11th. We’ll keep you updated on any changes.
Fennon Slough
The slough is accessible, but water levels are notably low. Caution and conservation are advised during your visit.
Middle Thompson
The water is open, inviting anglers to cast their lines in search of early-season catches.
Ashley/Bitterroot
Caution is the word here – the lakes are frozen over but the ice is treacherously thin. For your safety, we recommend waiting for more stable conditions.
Lake Koocanusa
The Rexford area is proving fruitful for bull trout and the occasional rainbow. Towards the Libby end, rainbow trout are more prevalent and are biting well.
Flathead Lake
Anglers are reporting good catches of smaller fish by jigging in deeper waters, between 150-200 feet. The delta area and Somers Bay are particularly promising, especially when using dead bait or large tubes.
Flathead River
The stretch from Columbia Falls to the old steel bridge is alive with rainbow trout and a few cutthroat. As always, we remind you to check the current regulations before heading out.
Happy fishing, and we look forward to seeing you on the water!
